My husband and I have been foster parents for more than 20 teenage young men. In college I was fortunate to be a summer missionary in Brazil where I specialized in puppetry with school children. I have helped to support and develop alternative education in Arkansas and in the United States. My passion is to help students gain academic skills and momentum while understanding the challenges and experiences they are encountering.
My husband and I were happily married in Campbell, TX in 1983. Our sons and daughter are all grown adults. We are blessed with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Four of our grandchildren attend a neighboring district and one is in Farmington, the others are in Fort Worth, TX. I am excited about becoming a Manfield Tiger and look forward to many wonderful experiences here.
Pets and flowers have absorbed a lot of my time this summer. We have Shiloh, an Australian Sheperd; she is almost ten years old. Sir Tom Watson, became the newest member of our pet family in early May when he was found in a ditch soaking wet and needing a lot of TLC. He is a sweet, smart, and rapidly growing kitten.
Our flower beds are full of continuously blooming flowers, many different colors of hibiscus, roses, butterfuly bushes and others. The hummingbird feeders and wild bird feeders are a daily task to keep up with as the hungry wildlife enjoys their provisions.
