1. Bill of Rights - The first 10 amendments to the Constitution added to protect citizens’ rights.
2. Branches of Government
3. Congress is made up of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
4. Checks and Balances – the system that prevents any one branch from gaining too much power.
5. Every state elects 2 Senators.
6. The number of Representatives depends on the state population.

2. Each state has a constitution and 3 branches of government like the federal government does.
3. Arkansas has 75 counties.
4. Governments at all levels get most of their money by collecting taxes.

4. The Liberty Bell is a symbol of our nation’s struggle for freedom.
